Hiromi has a BA in Sociology at York University (Deans List 2x) and is an actress for 30 years, receiving a Diversity Scholarship at Second City Improv Training Center and performed in comedy/ improv shows across Toronto. She has been active in theatre and film/TV industry and is represented by Phil Flagler of AMI Talent Agency and has appeared in hundreds of commercials for brands including: Walmart, Swiss Chalet, Scotiabank, Foodland Ontario (with daughter), Tim Hortons, McDonalds, Chevrolet and many more.

As a content creator, Hiromi’s main platform is Tik Tok and she has an incredible intergenerational community consisting of supporters who are GenZ, Gen Alpha, Millenials and of course GenX. Hiromi uses her experience  in Film, Television and  Voice to curate content with her “MOM Acting Challenge” on Tik Tok and has fan accounts, fan art and fan pages dedicated to her. She also has a presence on other platforms and manages her father’s Martial Arts Socials which has a huge following and engagement.

Hiromi is a Social Audio Host and Moderator, curating rooms on a variety topics. In December 2023 she had the extreme honour of being named Clubhouse’s Social Audio App Icon. If you downloaded the app during her tenure, her image would be on your phone screen!

Most recent exciting achievement  for Hiromi was filming her first LinkedIn Learning Course at their Carpinteria, California campus. Her upcoming course (May 2024) will be teaching about Social Audio.

Hiromi has her 5th Degree Black Belt and has been teaching for over 30 years at the Okuyama Karate-Do Dojo in Toronto. Her father, Kancho Takemasa Okuyama is a world renowned Master.
